Eat, Drink & Island Life
Thirty-one places to eat, twelve groceries, and a conch culture that runs on people diving their own. This is also the section we refuse to write from a desk.
Food is where Bimini's competing content is at its worst and where first-hand detail beats everything. The listicles that rank for “best restaurants in Bimini” are mostly scraped, mostly stale, and mostly describe places by adjective rather than by what you would actually order. We hold thirty-one food and drink listings and twelve groceries, which is more than any of them name.
The shape of it: conch is the thing. Joe's Conch Stand and Stuart's Conch Salad Stand are both in Bailey Town, both within a few minutes of each other, and Joe dives his own — several hundred a day in season. There are more stands than those two and the roster turns over informally, which is exactly why a ranking needs someone standing there with a cup in their hand. Big John's does live music on weekend nights. The End of the World Bar is a sand-floor shack on the Alice Town waterfront with genuinely irregular hours, and that is part of its charm and also a reason to have a backup plan.
Self-catering deserves more attention than it gets, because a large share of the beds on this island are condos with kitchens and a cooler of yellowtail is the cheapest good meal you will eat all week. Groceries run from Trev Inn in Porgy Bay — the pink building near the clinic, and the best produce selection here — down through half a dozen small stores. The mail boat sets the rhythm: fresh produce is best in the day or two after it lands and thinnest at the far end of the week.
Nothing in this section ships until someone has been. A ranking of conch shacks written without eating at them is indefensible, and a piece on what food costs needs a real basket of current prices rather than an estimate dressed up as one. So the pieces here are planned and the listings are live. Thats the honest split.

5 pieces are planned for this section and none are written. They are waiting on sourcing we do not have — prices, schedules and operating status that change often enough that publishing them from a desk would be publishing them wrong.
